For school learners in the driving school, you may wonder whether you should fix a good driving instructor as sometimes encounter instructors that you dislike or did not benefit anything from the lesson.
In this article, I will briefly share what are the consideration you should take note of when you intend to fix a driving instructor for your practical lesson.
Table of Contents
Additional Costs
If the cost is your main concern, you should consider and do your planning first if you decide to fix a driving instructor for your lessons.
For example in SSDC, it will be an additional $8.56 for each lesson if you decide to get a fixed instructor of your choice. So lets say for 10 lessons, it will be $85.60 and this translate to your one driving practical lesson

Better Understanding of your learning progress
One of the benefits will be the instructor will know your learning progress well and be able to know your weakness too. Your fixed instructor will be able to help you to tackle your weakness and brush up on your skill.
Of course, having different instructors also have its benefits as different instructors sometimes as different perspective and tips. So when you got to learn from different instructors, you will be getting to learn different tips and experiences from different instructors.
You Might Need to Stick to the Instructor working shift.
Based on my understanding especially for SSDC, the school driving instructors were working in 2 different shifts. In SSDC, So if you have only one fixed instructor in mind and you want to stick with the same instructor then you might need to arrange your practical lesson that is similar to the instructor.
From what I know for SSDC if the instructor is working AM morning shift this week and next week will be the PM afternoon shift.
Wrapping Up
For me, I do get one of the fixed instructors sometimes for my driving lesson unless the lessons I booked are different from the shift.
Sometimes, it is also good to learn from different instructors as well as you might benefit or they will discover your other weakness that your fixed instructor might not notice it.
I do hear there are students who have a few fixed instructors but at the end of the day, it is up to you to decide. Most importantly, you should learn and benefits from your lessons.
